The works in "Jessica Kincaid • Teaching and Learning", draw on my experiences as a paraprofessional and an aide in Kansas public schools. The works are a reaction to a school policy requiring students to be served toasted cheese sandwiches. The intent of the policy is that they would relay news of overdue lunch account balances to their families.
Students and staff struggle to maintain a peaceful learning climate. The school day is tightly scheduled and stressful, but despite the learning climate, instrinsically rewarding.
