I created works on paper to help myself learn code. As the abstract shapes loaded in the browser window, I noted their resemblance to abstract art.

In this piece, four rectangles, or divs, are nested inside each other. The size of the largest div (yellow) is determined by its percentages (75%, 75%) within the entire screen. The red, green and blue divs are sized in relation to the rectangles in which they are nested.

140 of the 256 web colors have quirky keyword names in addition to their numerical values. For example, I associated "position: absolute;" with an AliceBlue shape. Please click on the link below each drawing to see its code rendered in a browser window.

The keywords "IndianRed and "Moccasin" would seem to have their origins in Native American decorative arts. In a composition inspired by Navajo rug motifs, the color "Moccasin" serves as a nmemonic for the arrangement of elements displayed "inline-block;".

This shape was created as a scalable vector graphic (svg). It displays as an ellipse with the mysterious color code name of AliceBlue.
